When life gives you Oranges… make Orange Wine!
The grapes are machine picked at night to reduce the risk of oxidation. The grapes are pressed and the pressed juice is blended with the free-run juice to end the fermentation. It’s then aged on fine lees until bottling. The skin contact for this orange wine is relatively short with full skin contact for just 5 days.
Clear, pale orange colour with intense aromas of bitter oranges, dried flowers and slight nutty hints. This wine is fresh, vivid and well-balanced, with a nice acidity with the aromas carrying through to the palate. The finish is long, intense, and complex. Try with Pan-Asian fish, chicken curry and crayfish salad.
The producer, Frederic Garrabou was born in the small village of Limoux, situated amongst the Languedoc vineyards. His father and both his grandfathers were vine growers, and he grew up immersed in the vineyards, assisting his father from a young age. The cultivation of vines has always captivated him, as he believes that the finest wines are crafted in the vineyard.
