The grapes for this delicious wine by Sauska are selected from their various premium vineyards in and around Villány. A blended wine made with cabernet sauvignon, merlot, kékfrankos, cabernet franc, syrah. The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeast to maximize fruit character, then aged in stainless steel and selected used barrels for 8 months.
Warm ruby red in colour with aromas of plum, gooseberries and freshly baked sourdough bread which dominate the nose. On the palate there’s a lovely outburst of red forest fruits and delicate freshness. A lean body with a clean and balanced finish. The perfect everyday red. Try with beef, lamb, pork dishes or with charcuterie.
Sauska is a family-owned and operated winery with vineyards in both Tokaj (NE Hungary) and Villany (SW Hungary). They grow indigenous and international grape varieties and use only the power of gravity and ambient yeasts to craft our wines. They run the gamut from sparkling to still; dry to sweet; white, red and rose. Teamed up with a young, talented and passionate staff they enjoy the journey with the desire to make world-class wines, that are precise, elegant and uniquely Hungarian.
