This intense, yet youthful Spanish red uses a rigorously controlled and selected vintage of Mencia grapes from a vineyard of the Bierzo appellation of Castilla Y Leon. Whole grain fermentation at low temperatures helps obtain the maximum fruit expression possible before short oak ageing.
Cherry red with violet tones, the nose great aromatic intensity dominated by raspberry, cassis and blackcurrant alongside blackberry, cherry and hints of banana and pineapple. The creamy palate is pleasant, fresh and balanced, with a long, aromatic finish bringing layers of fruit salad. Try with charcuterie or cheese boards, mushroom risotto, hearty casseroles or warm salads.
