Tenuta Orsumella produce this rich Chianti Classico using hand picked Sangiovese grapes from their Tuscany vineyards. A 20 day fermentation and further malolactic fermentation is followed by ageing for 10 months in French oak barrels.
The result is the finest rich and full style of Chianti expected from the Chianti Classico area. Good fruit intensity with lots of dark cherry and ripe redcurrant, elegant tannins and hints of spice on the long finish. Try with traditional Italian pastas such as spaghetti bolognese or lasagna, pizza, rich barbecue dishes or mature hard cheeses.
The Tenuta Orsumella estate is run by the third generation of the Menichetti family and holds 25 hectares under vine located up in the hills of the San Casciano commune. Orsumella is the name of a stream that flows through the estate’s vineyards and is said to reflect the stars of the Little Bear constellation during summer nights.
