This Premier Cru Chablis wine from the 24 hectare La Meuliere estate in Burgundy, France, uses hand harvested grapes from the superior, sun-drenched and steep Mont de Milieu vineyard. Unoaked as tradition dictates.
An expressive bouquet of delicate floral and honeyed fruit aromas, revealing grapefruit, juicy citrus and soft peach, with a refined minerality of the ‘gunflint’ and slight smoke that Chablis is known for. The fresh mineral aspect is balanced by a creamy, satisfying texture in the mouth. Citrus, apple, stone fruit and florals mingle together perfectly with exceptional length on the finish. Try as an aperitif or with platters of cold meat, seafood or oysters.
Domaine De La Meuliere produce a range of Chablis wines from their 13th century cellar in Fleys, practising sustainable cultivation techniques, hand harvesting, and natural wine-making methods.
The Premier Cru Chablis appellation has vineyards that are wholly made up of the excellent Kimmeridgian soil. These soils prevalent across the region have a larger proportion of clay marl, limestone, and marine fossils, with Premier and Grand Cru locations utilising the best. This terroir provides the Chardonnay grape and the wines produced with the famous ‘gunflint’ mineral character.
