La Caplana are located in the highest hills of the Gavi, which provide wonderfully fresh wines thanks to the clayey nature of the white lands and their vines of over half a century that provide fullness, body and intense aromas with persistent floral memories. Their finest Gavi di Gavi uses Cortese grapes selected by hand before cryomaceration and soft pressing to collect the noblest first liquid. Vinified and matured in steel before ageing in the bottle prior to release.
The resulting wine is straw yellow in appearance with intense, complex aromas of citrus, white flowers and ripe fruit. In the mouth it is pleasantly fresh, sapid, and balanced, with a remarkable structure and good persistence. Try with hors d’oeuvres, white meats, fish and shellfish, light salads or soft mild cheeses.
The Guido family of Italy’s La Caplana have been involved in the cultivation of vines and the production of wine since the last century. They currently work with increasing attention to the environment, harnessing a vision to ensure sustainable winemaking and cultivation methods with the aim of preserving the livability of the earth and human health.
