The Funkstille range of Austrian wine takes inspiration from relaxing a moment to enjoy radio silence, the meaning of ‘Funkstille’. The energy neutral winery carries out gentle pressing of early morning harvested Riesling grapes, before fermentation in stainless steel for 15 to 25 days. The wine benefits from 8 weeks of lees contact before gentle fining and cold stabilisation prior to bottling.
The result is a wine of lemon appearance with soft aromas of white peach, apricot compôte and plentiful floral notes. All these elements add to the juicy palate texture, with a lovely acidity balancing the hint of residual sugar. This off-dry wine matches well with a wide range of creamy curry dishes.
